This role involves traveling to client sites to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade Komatsu/NTC laser machinery while delivering exceptional technical assistance to customers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to client locations: Conduct repairs on laser equipment, overseeing subcontractors and customer maintenance teams as needed. Perform preventive maintenance inspections. (20%)
  • Service Quotations: Accurately calculate and prepare service quotes for clients, liaising with subcontractors to incorporate their estimates into our proposals. Present comprehensive reports to clients, including inspection findings. (20%)
  • Warranty Support: Provide warranty services and technical support to clients. (20%)
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain regular communication with clients to foster relationships and promote service and parts sales. (15%)
  • Technical Phone Support: Offer viable product information to assist clients in repairing their equipment. (10%)
  • New Installations: Support the installation of new machinery. (10%)
  • Communication with Komatsu Japan: Engage with the team in Japan; proficiency in Japanese is a plus but not mandatory. (5%)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Japanese.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in laser maintenance, with a background in Electrical Engineering.
  • Valid driver's license and passport for travel.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and a willingness to learn new software.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and technical manuals; capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculations involving discounts, interest, and proportions.
  • Problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Physical capabilities to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
