The Law Library Director is a key leadership position at West Virginia University, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and daily operations of the Law Library. This role requires a strong vision for the library's future, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead a team of professionals in a fast-paced academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the library's mission and goals.
- Lead a team of librarians and support staff to provide exceptional service to faculty, students, and the public.
- Manage the library's budget and resources to ensure effective use of funds and optimal support for library services.
- Collaborate with faculty and other stakeholders to develop and deliver high-quality research and instructional services.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in academic law libraries and apply this knowledge to improve library services and operations.
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program.
- At least five years of experience in law library leadership, with a proven track record of success in strategic planning, team management, and budget management.
