Role Summary:

We are in search of an experienced Head of Product Innovation who possesses comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the entire product development cycle. This includes understanding materials, garment construction, pattern making, and product assembly across various product categories. The Head of Product Innovation should have a profound grasp of raw materials, sewing methods, and product development processes, with the capability to scale operations while maintaining quality and integrity.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exemplary leadership skills, foster talent development, and maintain a keen attention to detail along with effective communication. This role involves training and guiding both internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent adherence to fit standards and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate a quality-driven, cost-efficient, and adaptable development strategy that aligns with Vuori's diverse global market needs and core business objectives.
  • Articulate the vision, purpose, and processes of the Product Pipeline to sourcing offices, vendors, and mills, ensuring comprehensive stakeholder support.
  • Lead the product development team in delivering cost plans, sourcing strategies, and fit processes that align with seasonal merchandising, design, and financial objectives.
  • Manage relationships with factories, overseeing workflow, cost management, and timelines.
  • Oversee product development processes for both standard and expedited market products, with a focus on materials, fit, and construction.
  • Plan and monitor the development schedule for all products to guarantee timely completion of prototypes and samples in accordance with the product calendar.
  • Ensure fit intent is executed, considering design details, end use, trends, and brand identity standards through thorough analysis and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive digital and physical records related to styles, including measurements, bills of materials, technical sketches, and revisions.
  • Collaborate with factories to innovate construction techniques and processes necessary for developing technically sound products.
  • Guide the development team in addressing a wide range of seasonal development requirements, evaluating capabilities to meet technical product demands.
  • Resolve construction challenges in partnership with technical design and production teams, ensuring thorough reviews of all products.
  • Facilitate the transition of production-ready SKUs to the production team by delivering complete specifications and accurate records.
  • Educate cross-functional teams on the features and benefits of the seasonal product range during key development milestones.
  • Implement and manage the PLM system as the primary tool for all product creation processes, including spec templates and BOM maintenance.
  • Attract and retain top talent, fostering skill development and knowledge within the organization to enhance future leadership capabilities.
  • Monitor and assess organizational performance through quantitative and qualitative metrics, including departmental performance evaluations.
  • Adhere to the annual Product Development budget while contributing to revenue, margin, and EBITDA goals.
Candidate Profile:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Over 10 years of professional experience in product development or product management, with a solid understanding of managing products from concept to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of the apparel industry, including business strategies and competitive dynamics.
  • Familiarity with production regulations, testing protocols, and garment construction processes.
  • Proficient in apparel manufacturing economics and operations management.
  • Strong influencing skills across various functions and geographies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Capability to develop and implement strategies, monitor progress, and adjust plans to meet objectives.
  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to adapt personal style to diverse environments.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Proven experience in people management and leadership.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
