Academic Leadership Position

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Chief of Staff for Education (ACOS/E) to join our team. This is a senior leadership position that reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is responsible for overseeing all health professions trainees (HPTs) at the VA medical facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the Education Service and lead a diverse team of professionals in clinical, educational, and administrative areas.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to HPE programs, accreditation, and affiliate relationships.
- Provide leadership and guidance on Health Professions Education (HPE) program requirements and ensure compliance with VHA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) directives.
- Collaborate with the University of Minnesota and other academic affiliates to develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Ensure a respectful and non-biased learning environment and maximize trainee education and well-being.
- Board-certified physician with leadership experience in clinical, educational, and administrative areas.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with applied statistics.
- Experience in program development, innovation in HPE programs, and academic training settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
