Position Summary
The Conservation Law Enforcement Policy Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping the policies and procedures that govern our law enforcement practices. This position involves a comprehensive approach to legislative and administrative rule development, ensuring that our operations align with conservation goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, assess, and communicate the Division's engagement in legislative initiatives and policy implementation.
- Oversee the legislative program related to conservation, law enforcement, and associated proposals, including drafting analyses and providing training to staff.
- Collaborate in the formulation of enforcement policies and maintain the law enforcement handbook.
- Analyze and present recommendations on laws and policies affecting conservation law enforcement.

Collaboration and Liaison
- Act as a liaison to internal programs regarding policy and legislative development, integrating with various agency staff to ensure effective law enforcement practices.
- Provide ombudsman services to external stakeholders, including conservation organizations and legislative committees.

Training and Support
- Deliver training to new officers on enforcement policies and administrative processes.
- Assist in resolving complex enforcement scenarios and provide guidance on conservation law interpretation.

Qualifications
- Must possess experience in establishing relationships with diverse partners and communities.
- Proficient in analyzing legal documents and understanding legislative processes.
- Preferred qualifications include experience as a certified law enforcement officer and knowledge of natural resource laws.
