Position Overview

As a Human Resources Consultant within Shelby County Government, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive HR assistance across various departments and elected offices. You will serve as the primary HR resource, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication.

  • Operates with minimal supervision to assist designated departments and offices
  • Offers guidance on HR policies and protocols

  • Ensures prompt responses to employee inquiries

Compensation Grade: 52

Your salary will be determined based on your qualifications and experience.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience in HR as a generalist or consultant
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business administration, or a related discipline
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • Verification of education, training, and experience is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigates and resolves employee relations matters
  • Facilitates training sessions for management and staff
  • Assists in communicating benefits and conducting employee orientations
  • Ensures adherence to performance appraisal systems
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legal standards and compliance
