Vocational Training Specialist

At EmployAbility Inc., we are seeking a dedicated Vocational Training Specialist to deliver vocational readiness training and support services to high school students with disabilities in Chatham, Effingham, Bulloch, and surrounding counties.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for providing hands-on instruction, guidance, and mentorship to students to help them develop essential job readiness skills and explore career pathways.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate student Authorizations from the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and school scheduling needs.
- Deliver engaging and interactive vocational readiness training sessions covering topics such as job exploration, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and independent living skills.
- Utilize various instructional methods, including classroom instruction, group activities, role-playing exercises, and hands-on learning experiences, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them identify their interests, strengths, and career goals, and develop personalized transition plans.
- Conduct career assessments, interest inventories, and job shadowing experiences to help students explore various career pathways and make informed decisions about their future.
- Offer job coaching and skill development support to students, assisting them with resume writing, job applications, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Previous experience working with individuals with IDD, preferably in a vocational or transition services setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, parents/guardians, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and community partners to support student success.
We offer a competitive salary of $$60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with education, qualifications, and work experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid holidays, paid time off, and more.
