About the Role

The Public Safety Liaison Specialist will provide critical support to the Community Safety unit at Barnard College. This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $32.11 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have high school diploma plus 2-3 years' related experience and excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain composure in emergency situations and comprehend, write, and speak English fluently are also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor security and safety systems, including video surveillance and fire alarms.
  • Communicate central station monitoring information and maintain open lines of communication between CARES department personnel and other campus stakeholders.
  • Document emergency calls, notifications, and information according to established procedures.
  • Dispatch and communicate with Community Safety personnel and Facilities staff.
  • Conduct regular checks of central station systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide general campus information to the public and College community.
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus 2-3 years' related experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to maintain composure in emergency situations.
  • Able to comprehend, write, and speak English fluently.
