Research Scientist III

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Professional III to join our team at the University of Georgia's Vaccines & Immun Ctr. This is a three-year term position, with potential for renewal based on project needs and availability of funding.
Key Responsibilities- Independently design, execute, analyze and interpret complex research experiments in association with the PI and prepare results for presentations, research grants, proposals and papers.
- Tissue culture and maintenance of cell lines, ensuring proper record keeping, sterility, maintenance, storage and safety of culture work.
- Day-to-day management of the laboratory, monitoring equipment and repair, maintaining stocks of research supplies, cell lines, and stocks, and monitoring lab budget.
- Interviewing and section, orientation and training, and supervision of laboratory personnel, including technicians, summer and work study students.
- Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
- Self-motivating and willing to work independently within a team environment.
