Research Scientist III

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Professional III to join our team in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research to manipulate nematode and plant genes to engineer novel forms of nematode resistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to manipulate nematode and plant genes to engineer novel forms of nematode resistance.
- Handle and analyze genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets, transform plants, and use a variety of modern molecular and genetic approaches.
- Collect data from experiments and analyze it directly and in collaboration with the PI.
- Summarize and regularly discuss research results in both written and oral format with the PI.
- Supervise student workers that assist with research in the laboratory.
Requirements:
- Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
- Master's degree and some experience or equivalent combination of Bachelor's degree plus experience and skills.
- Doctorate's Degree.
Working Conditions:
The incumbent will work in a laboratory setting and will be required to handle and analyze genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets, transform plants, and use a variety of modern molecular and genetic approaches.
