POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics and Inventory Specialist is accountable for the efficient production and packaging of goods. This role supports various manufacturing sectors, including but not limited to powder coating and quality assurance. The specialist will assist in the receipt of materials and products to uphold the integrity of inventory management, ensuring the timely packing, shipping, and delivery of products to designated entities. Responsibilities include pulling, loading, and restocking products as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Packing and Shipping

  • Review contents and cross-check with records to confirm the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Conduct final visual inspections, verifications, and counts before freight departs.
  • Document any discrepancies and communicate with relevant personnel regarding these issues.
  • Prepare new inventory documentation as required.
  • Coordinate daily shipping schedules to ensure all shipments are ready for carriers while keeping supervisors informed of any potential delays.
  • Prepare items for shipment, including picking, packing, staging, and labeling.
  • Utilize hand trucks and other equipment as necessary to transport shipments to staging, storage, or work areas.

Inventory Management and Warehouse Organization

  • Monitor supply inventory by assessing stock levels and anticipating supply needs.
  • Conduct cycle counts, restock shelves, and maintain inventory organization.
  • Assist in upholding the order, cleanliness, and efficiency of the warehouse.

Receiving Operations

  • Support the receiving process by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers.
  • Verify received items by inspecting their condition and comparing counts or measurements to purchase orders and packing lists; note any discrepancies.

Damage Control

  • Receive, inspect, and inventory returns and damaged items while reporting any recurring issues.
  • Repair or repackage products as necessary.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and the freight industry.
  • Understanding of equipment safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to stand, bend, and lift over 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, and pull items and containers.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods each day.
