Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Center Attendant to join our team at Memphis Goodwill Incorporated. As a key member of our donation center team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our donation center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accept and sort donations from the public, providing receipts as needed.
  • Process and secure donations until they are picked up by our Goodwill truck.
  • Maintain a clean and organized donation center, including sweeping and cleaning as needed.
  • Break down empty boxes and keep the workspace tidy.
  • Ensure all donations are properly stored and that trash and debris are disposed of in designated containers.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any accidents to the ADC Manager.
  • Secure the donation center at the end of each day.
  • Assist the truck driver with loading and unloading the truck.
  • Notify the manager of any needed supplies, truck service, or maintenance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain balance while lifting, loading, or unloading.
  • Ability to separate salable from non-salable donations.
  • Constant public contact.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
Interpersonal Relations
  • Ability to effectively relate to people with various disabilities, personalities, and cultural backgrounds.
