Job Title: Donation Center Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Donation Center Attendant at Memphis Goodwill Incorporated.

Job Summary:

The Donation Center Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to donors and customers, ensuring a positive and efficient donation experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet donors within 10 seconds of arrival and provide a friendly, courteous, and prompt service.
  • Assist donors with the unloading of donations from vehicles, trailers, etc.
  • Offer and provide tax receipts to donors.
  • Maintain accurate daily counts of donations.
  • Process donations according to ADC Processing Procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness at the Donation Center, including sweeping inside and outside of the center.
  • Break down all empty boxes and keep the desktop clean.
  • Keep all donations inside the Donation Center and ensure trash and debris are kept in designated containers.
  • Report all accidents to the ADC Manager on the same day they occur.
  • Secure the Donation Center at the end of the day.
  • Notify the manager of any needed supplies, truck service, and maintenance required.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stand for extensive periods of time, and lift up to 60lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and perform basic mathematical skills.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends/flexible schedule.
Special Requirements:
  • Able to lift up to 60lbs, bend, push, pull, or reach.
  • Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with donors, team members, and manager.
  • Able to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Able to communicate effectively and provide general feedback.
Critical Performance Factors (CPF):
  • Safety: Adhere to all company safety guidelines.
  • Attendance: Work schedule as assigned, notify leadership as needed with no recurring issues.
  • Quality of work: Attitude, sense of urgency, productivity, individual safety performance.
  • Accuracy of donor counts.
  • Image: Personal image, keeps work area/location clean, safe, organized with no donor creep.
  • Work Integrity: Follows established procedures and processes donations timely with a sense of urgency.
  • Customer Service: 10-second rule internal and external customers, smile, integrity of process and feedback.
  • Reporting: Accurately reports equipment on hand, communicates needs.
