Powers & Sons Construction is in search of a dedicated full-time Project Management Assistant. This role is essential for overseeing project budgets, establishing specifications regarding timelines and quality, and comprehending design elements, client needs, and performance benchmarks from the bidding phase through to project completion. The selected candidate will be a vital member of the team, requiring a proactive approach and expertise in construction and project oversight. The ideal individual will enhance the overall effectiveness of Powers & Sons by maintaining ongoing connections with both the company and clients, ensuring that project requirements are clearly defined, scoped, and managed effectively.

Location

The Project Management Assistant operates from a central office.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this prominent role, the successful candidate will demonstrate a proven history of:

  • Creating and managing project budgets, including coding and approving invoices.
  • Training and mentoring Project Engineers.
  • Ensuring financial accountability and accuracy in billing for owners and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing project Requests for Information (RFIs) and providing architectural recommendations.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules while leading change requests.
  • Facilitating subcontractor project meetings effectively.
  • Preparing monthly Project Status Reports (PSRs).
  • Coordinating communication among subcontractors.
  • Supporting business development initiatives by fostering positive client relationships to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring quality control and implementing project safety plans.
  • Collaborating with Superintendents and Project Engineers to guarantee timely project deliverables.
  • Managing project buy-out and closeout processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction management, architecture, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience as a General Contractor is required.

Additional Requirements

  • Familiarity with construction industry practices, procedures, and market dynamics.
  • Proficient in Accounting Software & Reports (e.g., Jonas).
  • Highly organized, capable of planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Able to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with resource management capabilities.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive professional relationships with all team members.
  • A mindset geared towards learning; open to training and coaching, and accountable for personal work.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary. Projects are typically located within a one-hour radius of the office.

Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
