Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and thoroughly comprehend blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Identify potential issues and solve problems or provide realistic solutions for issues or problem(s) to Project Management Team to maintain construction schedule.
  • Inspect or direct the inspection of all contracted work to ensure compliance with contract agreements and all applicable local jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate and schedule all required municipal and special inspections as it pertains the local municipality and project documents.
  • Coordinate, schedule and supervise all required utility companies as they relate to this project.
  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts as agreed to with Owners.
  • Work with Project Engineer(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure pertinent materials have been reserved and coordinate deliveries with suppliers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all personnel, the entire design team, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and all applicable municipal representatives.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify any job site hazards immediately.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others.
  • Prepare and submit Daily Reports to document weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress and conditions impacting the project, as well as Accident Reports, Quality Reports, etc.
  • Coordinate weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Facilitate cost control measures related to changes in the project.
  • Provide daily Procore reports and weekly vendor/subs meeting minutes.
  • Provide two-week look ahead schedule to sub-contractors and Project Management Team.
  • Produce SWPPPs reports weekly.
  • Attend and help run Monthly OAC meeting with Project Management Team.
  • Provide training and education to the entire field personnel as needed to ensure a successful project.
  • Maintain an organized job site and site construction office.
  • Foster a positive work environment to provide for the professional growth and development of employees.
  • Mentor the growth of assigned Assistant Superintendent.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Learn, become familiar with and utilize company's software. Current software includes:
    • Procore
    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft Project
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Blue Beam Revu for electronic document mark-ups and onscreen take-offs.
    • Sage 300 for all project specific Estimating, Project Management, Job Cost and Accounting needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred and/or related field or 8-10 years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong background in wood framing preferred.
  • Previous experience in ground-up multi-family and hospitality construction fields.
  • Must be consistently detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Leadership, foresight and conflict resolution attributes preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate goals and tasks and to be able to follow through.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Professional judgment and discretion that comes from experience in working with customer services, internal teams, and 3rd party consultants.
Working Conditions

This role requires standing, walking, or sitting for long periods of time, or entire shift. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (i.e. small print). Grasp, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, eight hours per day.
