Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Engineer to join our Battery Production team at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating battery manufacturing equipment to support new model launches. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager for Battery to execute Capital Projects from planning through Start of Production (SOP).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage construction and equipment installations, including general contractor management
• Lead cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, utility planning/verification, installation, pre-production trials, and launch of battery production lines
• Develop process plans for battery production lines within the battery department with direct support from the Manager
• Mentor and support other engineers or technicians
• Create and maintain detailed schedules and budgets for assigned areas
• Participate in cross-functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals
• Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical field, or 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience
• Experience in production preparation of manufacturing and execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to start of production
• AutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify 2D drawings
• Experience in production preparation of manufacturing for capital projects, including schedule creation and KPI tracking from initial planning to start of production
• Experience creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment, such as standardized work, job safety analysis, or similar
• Budget management experience for capital projects greater than $250K
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Degree, above a bachelor's
• Experience with laser welding
• Experience and/or exposure to battery manufacturing processes
• Equipment installation and validation experience
• Experience with chemical processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment
