We are seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead our nursing operations at a prominent facility.
Key Responsibilities:

The Chief Nursing Officer is a vital member of the Hospital Leadership Team, responsible for integrating and coordinating a patient-centered nursing strategy with a strong emphasis on quality care. This role ensures that the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare aligns with UHS's mission, vision, and values, while adhering to regulatory and accreditation standards.

The CNO will focus on five primary areas:

1. People:
Foster an environment that promotes employee development and teamwork to deliver compassionate patient care.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff to ensure effective supervision.
  • Encourage continuous learning through mentoring and education.
  • Develop plans to enhance the professional and managerial skills of nursing staff.
  • Implement standards of care in line with evidence-based practices.
  • Support initiatives for high reliability in patient care.

2. Service:
Create systems and processes that uphold service excellence in patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with management and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion Service Excellence among staff and recognize those who excel.
  • Participate in decisions regarding clinical equipment and technology purchases.

3. Quality:
Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Identify trends to enhance the hospital's market position.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

4. Growth:
Support community engagement and partnerships to foster growth.
  • Participate in marketing and communication efforts to promote hospital services.
  • Engage in various committees to address nursing-related issues.

5. Finance:
Ensure financial stability and resource management to achieve organizational goals.
  • Monitor department performance against operational goals.
  • Manage budgets and staffing levels to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications:

  • Current nursing license in the state of employment.
  • Extensive knowledge of nursing practices and management.
  • Master's degree and a minimum of five years of progressive nursing management experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
