Position Overview

Audubon Companies is seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will engage in mechanical engineering tasks related to the design of equipment, components, and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop comprehensive specifications for project assignments, outlining client performance expectations, design criteria, and vendor requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Create engineering sketches, conduct calculations, and build analysis models for moderately complex projects.
  • Review vendor drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Establish realistic project timelines and ensure completion within budget constraints.
  • Follow company quality standards and engineering approval processes.
  • Comply with health, safety, security, and environmental regulations as mandated by the company and clients.
  • Participate in hazard identification and reporting programs, addressing any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to produce and review engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect vendor facilities to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and bid tabulations for equipment procurement.
  • Review engineering drawings and perform mathematical calculations for accuracy.
  • Focus on safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage project workload, budgets, and resources, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Develop and review engineering design packages, both conceptual and detailed.
  • May oversee small projects and manage daily workflow, including delegating tasks and setting deadlines.
  • Provide feedback on co-worker performance and address work-related issues.
  • Offer guidance on best practices and techniques to colleagues.
  • Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as required, adhering to PE sealing regulations for assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
  • PE license is mandatory.
  • Experience in Offshore Oil and Gas is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel offshore for short durations.
  • Active TWIC is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience leading small to medium projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with piping systems and process equipment design is preferred.
  • Knowledge of piping, pressure vessel, and equipment codes (ASME, API, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Proactive approach to addressing work-related challenges.
