Lead Mechanical Engineer

Audubon Companies is in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance our engineering capabilities. The selected candidate will undertake mechanical engineering tasks related to the design of equipment, components, structures, or systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently develop intermediate to advanced specifications for project tasks, outlining client performance criteria, specific component requirements, design standards, and vendor documentation needs.
- Create engineering sketches, conduct engineering calculations, and formulate analysis models for moderately complex projects.
- Evaluate and approve vendor drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
- Establish realistic project expectations and ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
- Maintain compliance with company quality standards and follow engineering review and approval protocols.
- Adhere to all health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards as mandated by the company and local regulations.
- Actively engage in hazard identification and reporting unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Collaborate with the drafting/design team to create and review engineering drawings.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
- Inspect vendor facilities to verify equipment compliance with specifications.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and bid evaluations related to equipment procurement.
- Review engineering drawings and perform mathematical checks.
- Implement safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage project workload, budgets, and resources, seeking assistance when necessary.
- Develop, review, and approve both conceptual and detailed engineering design packages.
- May oversee small-scale projects and manage daily workflow within a team, delegating tasks and setting deadlines.
- Provide feedback on co-worker performance and address work-related issues.
- Offer guidance on best practices and technical expertise to colleagues.
- Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned, ensuring compliance with PE sealing regulations for designated projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
- Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
- Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
- PE license is required.
- Experience in Offshore Oil and Gas is preferred.
- Willingness to travel offshore for short durations.
- Active TWIC is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience leading small to medium-sized projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with the design of piping systems and process equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of piping, pressure vessel, and equipment codes (ASME, API, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Proactive approach to addressing work-related challenges.
