Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Assist the Director in leading the human resources department and staff, ensuring effective management and development of team members.
  • Human Resources Programs: Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of human resources programs, policies, and strategies to meet organizational goals.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Develop and implement effective recruitment and selection processes to attract and retain top talent.
  • Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations, ensuring a fair and inclusive work environment.
  • Benefits and Compensation: Develop and administer benefits and compensation programs that support employee well-being and retention.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • HR Systems and Technology: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR systems and technology to support business operations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating risks to the organization.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources administration and management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of recruitment, selection, and retention, benefits administration, employee relations, claims and compensation, compliance, county-wide/local government programs, HRIS systems, and developing training programs.
  • Government Experience: Experience in a government or local government position.
