Associate Director, Research, Opening Doors

The Vera Institute of Justice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Research to lead research efforts for the Opening Doors Initiative. This is a senior-level position that requires a strong background in research, policy, and management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead research efforts for the Opening Doors Initiative, including developing and implementing research designs, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating findings.
- Supervise and mentor a team of researchers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of research projects.
- Collaborate with the initiative director and other stakeholders to develop and implement research-based strategies to advance the initiative's goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including advocacy groups, community organizations, and government agencies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and policy developments in the field and apply this knowledge to inform the initiative's research and policy efforts.
- Advanced graduate training, such as a Ph.D. or equivalent, in a relevant field, such as sociology, criminology, or public policy.
- At least 9 years of experience in research and policy, with a strong background in research design, data analysis, and policy development.
- Proven track record of leading research teams and managing research projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
