Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of blood sample collection and processing. Your expertise will contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients, and your commitment to excellence will help us maintain our high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using various phlebotomy methods, including venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Accurately identify patients, label, handle, and transport specimens.
  • Assist with the training of students and new employees.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical field preferred.
  • Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adapt to changes in work volumes and projects.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

Mayo Clinic offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $26.14 per hour, and comprehensive benefits.
