This position is open to individuals eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) and former Public Land Corps (PLC) participants; CTAP and ICTAP eligibles within the local commuting area; and those eligible under Special Hiring Authorities (e.g., Peace Corps participants, Schedule A, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Formulates targeted recruitment strategies to meet specific organizational or programmatic needs. Educates and informs supervisors, managers, and staff about legal, regulatory, and Bureau staffing and placement protocols.
- Facilitates or assists management in performing job analyses for a diverse range of complex roles by evaluating the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) necessary for fulfilling designated job requirements.
- Addresses inquiries and concerns from candidates regarding qualification assessments, referral statuses, and selection processes.
- Interprets and implements a comprehensive array of HR methodologies, principles, and practices related to recruitment and placement. Advises managers on conducting job analyses and selecting suitable criteria for assessing candidates for intricate positions.
- Guides hiring officials on the procedures and requirements governing Certificates of Eligibles, category ratings, and regulations concerning applicants with veteran preferences.
- Conducts job analyses, develops crediting plans, prepares promotion and placement announcements, and issues referral certificates.
- Provides expert guidance, advice, and reviews of personnel actions undertaken.
- May act as a contact point for retirement-related inquiries.
