Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at Zobility, a leading workforce management and staffing division of RGBSI. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting Transmission Assembly and Machining operations, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data.
Lead problem-solving in resolving equipment performance issues, including troubleshooting machinery, robot, automation, and controls issues and downtime.
Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant electricians, as well as integration of controls into IT systems like Factory Information Systems (FIS), Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS.
Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment and reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements.
Maintain program backups for machinery and automation, and assist in the coordination of project installations.

Requirements:

3+ years of Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in PLC logic, controls, Siemens and Modicon programming.
Experience with assembly and machining controls architectures (hardware/software), as well as knowledge of programming principals on Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLC, CNC/Motion controls systems, and cell machining systems.
Knowledge of international electrical/safety standards (UL, ISO, IEC etc) and familiarity with internal/external safety processes (risk assessments, PSS, integrated safety etc).
Able to read Controls (electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) prints, and understanding of communication network architectures and field bus protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience interacting with senior management, process engineering, safety, IT, and plant production teams, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Self-starting, self-directed with a strong manufacturing background and heavy emphasis on production-related controls experience.
