About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the development of annual operating budgets and longer-term business plans for National Grid USA. This position will work closely with the Finance Business Partnering team to drive results and strategy across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain financial models and budgets for each business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate and business needs.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partnering to develop and challenge business assumptions that drive short-term results and longer-term strategy.
  • Run scenario analyses and provide ad-hoc support for key investment decisions, prospective rate filings, and other business initiatives.
  • Partner with the wider FP&A team to develop consolidated National Grid USA budgets and business plans.
  • Support the development and implementation of the plan to perform process, ensuring proper tie-in between record to report and plan to perform processes.
  • Work with Accounting counterparts to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and maintain a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of an inclusive and collaborative team environment within the US controllership.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business, with an MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive finance experience, with a focus on budgeting and financial planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in finance and budgeting systems, with a strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting.
