The Nurse Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the evaluation of the severity of reported injuries by workers, reviewing medical information within our proprietary system, and ensuring the accuracy and security of medical data. This role involves assessing and determining the necessity for treatment related to work-related injuries.
As a Nurse Care Coordinator, you will serve as a consultant, supporting the objectives of the Claim Management department and CorVel.
Your responsibilities will include initiating and receiving calls from injured workers, employers, and healthcare providers to gather treatment plans, secure medical documentation, and evaluate the return-to-work status of injured workers.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation within the claims system, focusing on medical conditions, treatment plans, and return-to-work statuses.
- Guide callers to the appropriate medical and claims resources.
- Identify and promptly communicate urgent issues related to treatment or patient conditions to the claims team.
- Act as a nursing consultant to the claims team.
- Evaluate the need for medical follow-ups and provide necessary recommendations to the claims team, collaborating closely to identify potential concerns from injuries that may require further attention or additional services.
- Comply with Triage production standards and account-specific handling guidelines.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
- Proficiency in managing multiple complex projects and competing priorities while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
- Strong computer skills and technical aptitude, particularly with MS Office applications, including Excel.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Compensation is determined based on various factors, including federal, state, and local wage requirements, geographic location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions.
