Job Title: Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Hackensack. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication and fluid checks.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to complete repairs and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Utilize CMMS to record time and provide accurate repair notes.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals and wiring diagrams.
  • CDL strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Apple computer systems.
Competencies:
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing situations.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Ability to lift, remove, and replace tires and parts weighing 90+ pounds.
  • Ability to climb and maneuver on and around equipment.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate impact tools and other shop machinery safely.
