The Material Handling Specialist is tasked with the safe and precise loading and unloading of all shipments received and dispatched by Advanced Drainage Systems. This role necessitates the demonstration of safe vehicle operation practices at all times.
Additionally, this position involves interaction with both company and external drivers, as well as will-call customers, requiring excellent customer service capabilities.
Flexibility to work over 40 hours per week, including weekends as needed, is essential. Loaders report directly to the Yard Supervisor and/or Yard Manager.Key Responsibilities:
The duties of this role encompass, but are not limited to:
1. Foster a culture of safety by promptly communicating any unsafe conditions or incidents.
2. Maintain a secure working environment through the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
3. Operate forklifts safely and perform routine maintenance on forklifts and other machinery.
4. Ensure product quality by conducting thorough visual inspections and proper labeling of finished goods.
5. Provide excellent customer service during loading and unloading processes while minimizing errors.
6. Oversee proper product rotation and inventory tracking.
7. Stay informed about pipe specifications and packaging requirements.
8. Engage in continuous improvement regarding processes and facility cleanliness.
9. Invest in personal career development through company training programs.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
