Position Details:

The Resident Services Technician will report directly to the Community Manager and the Resident Services Supervisor. This role involves assisting in the overall upkeep and maintenance of the property under supervision.


REQUIRED SKILLS IN PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, CARPENTRY, AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all maintenance projects and training sessions as assigned.
  • Conduct minor electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, and outlets.
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks, including clearing drain blockages and replacing fittings and faucets.
  • Replace damaged tiles, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
  • Execute painting tasks, both interior and exterior, as instructed.
  • Assist with custodial duties, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning windows in common areas.
  • Support grounds maintenance as directed.
  • Participate in an emergency standby schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage, ensuring a maximum response time of thirty minutes from the time of notification.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Possess a valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance for business-related travel or have reliable transportation.
  • Attend company-sponsored events related to team development, which may occasionally require overnight stays away from home.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to assist in various areas for the benefit of the team and organization, which may include supporting other properties.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Community Manager or other supervisors.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, following written instructions and established protocols.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members; bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
  • Exhibit professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all job functions.
  • Maintain an appropriate work pace relative to workload.
  • Capable of performing a variety of tasks as directed.
  • Ability to relate to others beyond mere instruction.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of recent experience in property management maintenance or a related field is required; two or more years of hands-on experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, or a combination of three or more years of relevant work experience and technical certifications.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Physical activities including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, crawling, kneeling, twisting, and carrying.
  • Ability to work with hands.
  • Driving responsibilities.
