Position Details:

The Resident Services Technician will report directly to the Community Manager and the Resident Services Supervisor. This role involves supporting the overall upkeep and maintenance of the property under supervision.


REQUIRED SKILLS IN PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, CARPENTRY, AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all maintenance initiatives and training sessions as assigned.
  • Conduct minor electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, and outlets.
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks, including clearing drain blockages and replacing fittings.
  • Replace damaged tiles, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
  • Execute painting tasks, both interior and exterior, as directed.
  • Assist with custodial duties, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning windows in communal areas.
  • Support grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Participate in an emergency standby schedule for after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage, ensuring a maximum response time of 30 minutes.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Possess a valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance for business-related travel or have reliable transportation.
  • Attend company-sponsored events that contribute to team development, which may occasionally require overnight stays away from home.
  • Exhibit a willingness to assist in various areas for the benefit of the team and organization, including support for other properties.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by the Community Manager or other supervisors.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, following written instructions and established protocols.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English; bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus, facilitating effective communication with residents and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all job functions.
  • Maintain an appropriate work pace relative to the workload.
  • Execute simple and varied tasks as instructed.
  • Engage with others beyond mere instruction exchange.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in property management maintenance or a related field is required; 2 or more years of hands-on experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, or a combination of 3+ years of relevant work experience and technical certifications.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Physical activities including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, crawling, kneeling, twisting, and carrying.
  • Manual dexterity required for hands-on tasks.
  • Driving as part of job responsibilities.
