Job Title: Driver and Warehouse Assistant

Cryoport, Inc. is a leading provider of temperature-controlled supply chain solutions for the life sciences industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Driver and Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Valley Stream, NY.

Job Summary:

The Driver and Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for the pickup and delivery of temperature-controlled shipments between our warehouse, major airports, and client locations. This role will also involve warehouse duties, including stock control, preparing and conditioning temperature-controlled packaging, and recording and data entering all information regarding temperature-controlled packaging.

Responsibilities:
  • Picking up and delivering to major airlines within JFK and/or LaGuardia
  • Driving throughout the NY Metropolitan region and Long Island
  • Stock control, including periodic cycle counts of product and packaging material
  • Preparing and conditioning TCP, including handling of phase change materials
  • Recording and data entering all information regarding temperature-controlled packaging
  • Physical picking and packing of materials, loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating a delivery vehicle
  • Assisting with preparing and charging vapor shipping tanks (dry shippers) with liquid nitrogen according to charging and safety procedures
  • Communicating directly with clients during delivery and pick-up assignments
  • Complying with all TSA regulations, including planned route and locking vehicle at all times
  • Completing driver logs and reports as assigned
  • Receiving empty dry shippers, cleaning, sanitizing, and readying for next use
  • Complying with quality and safety guidelines for handling materials and operating equipment
  • Delivering a wide variety of items to different addresses through different routes
  • Following routes and schedule
  • Asking for feedback on provided services and resolving client complaints
  • Following DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Ensuring all traffic laws are observed
  • Ensuring safety precautions are implemented and maintained during transit and while in the warehouse
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year's proven delivery driver experience
  • Driving record free of violations for 5 years minimum
  • Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs
  • English language proficient
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Safety culture and quality-oriented
  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in all weather and traffic conditions
  • Familiarity with airline documentation and TSA regulations
  • Experience with major airlines and their processes when tendering and recovering shipments
  • Experience with TSA security measures as per TSA security training offerings
  • Able to learn and operate data logger devices, handheld scanners, and other power equipment as directed
  • Working knowledge in cold chain management/strong in cold chain facilities (willing to train)
Compensation:

$26.44 per hour
