Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee all customer commercial invoicing and accounts payable for Bayou Vista and Houston. This individual will be responsible for reconciling accounts and conducting project audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and send invoices to clients, including entering client invoices into their own web portals.
  • Perform General Ledger account reconciliations and related schedules.
  • Set up new projects, project budgets, and employees in Dynamics, as well as set up new projects in DOT and update them as needed.
  • Maintain and review accounts to ensure proper invoicing or accruals as needed.
  • Audit and process all expense reports, including paper copies and online expense reporting using SAP Concur.
  • Export online expense reports to the payroll coordinator, prepare journal entries for all SAP Concur expense reports, and enter the reports into Dynamics.
  • Process employee receivable accounts.
  • Perform state and local sales tax reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly reports for Gulf Coast Managers.
  • Prepare property tax forms for tax assessors for the Gulf Coast Division.
  • Interact with Clients and Project Managers to resolve billing and collection issues.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Phoenix's safety programs and quality management system (QMS), as well as cognizant company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide support to accounting staff in all areas as needed.
  • Key in Dive logs.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, or 5-7 years of equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of all aspects of project accounting, from purchasing through invoicing.
  • Computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Mozilla Firefox.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving and creative thinking are a plus.
  • Ability to travel when needed.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check, as required.
