Responsibilities

Are you prepared to take on a leadership role and contribute to impactful projects within the government sector? Our team seeks an experienced Intelligence Community Subject Matter Expert (SME) who possesses strong collaboration and program management skills to offer guidance and support to government leaders in developing ground enterprise solutions for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD).

This program delivers Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) and Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) services to an IC client, focusing on the acquisition and operation of a complex mission system alongside its supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is integral to the customer’s core team, addressing all facets of systems engineering and integration throughout the systems life cycle, which includes capturing requirements, modeling architecture, collaborating with developers to deliver capabilities, conducting testing to ensure compliance with requirements, and providing operational support.

The selected candidate will contribute as an individual to various systems engineering and acquisition tasks across IC program stakeholders, coordinating with the Technical Lead to manage a team of up to 20 multi-disciplinary SETAs engaged in technical roles on the contract. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the customer in the development, refinement, and execution of the program's engineering processes, ensuring technical integrity while maintaining programmatic efficiency.
  • Providing leadership and direction for systems engineering and integration tasks across various program functional areas, collaborating with the Technical Lead, Program Manager, SMEs, and other professionals to analyze, resource, and resolve issues to achieve technically feasible outcomes.
  • Ensuring effective support for the customer's agile processes and technical deliverables.
  • Delivering comprehensive managerial services to the contract program management team, including staffing, retention, performance assessment, mentoring, and regular communication of updates to both customers and employees.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in a management-level SETA role; or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience; or a PhD with 10+ years of experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Experience with Mission Partner and customer overhead and/or ground systems.
  • Proven experience in full-lifecycle systems engineering, system integration, and/or project management for complex systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with mission partners and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Advanced skills in customer collaboration and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong representational, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Capability to organize, schedule, and accomplish a diverse range of tasks while supporting sensitive contract and mission activities.
  • Experience in agile planning, management, and execution, with familiarity in commercial Atlassian tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA).

Desired:

  • Previous experience with customer enterprise-level processes.
  • Knowledge of customer GEOINT ground mission systems.
  • Education or certification in Systems Engineering.
  • Education or certification in Program Management.
  • Understanding of systems architecture, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Digital Engineering (DE).
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
