Job Title: Associate General Counsel, Monetization

Meta is seeking a seasoned attorney to join our Monetization Legal team as Associate General Counsel, Monetization. This role involves advising our product and business teams on emerging requirements for offering generative artificial intelligence products to advertisers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on global generative AI-related laws and regulations relevant to digital platforms and the advertising ecosystem.
  • Analyze global products, features, and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Counsel product, engineering, and business teams on compliance with existing data protection, competition, intellectual property, and consumer protection laws, as well as emerging legal frameworks.
  • Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
  • 12+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
  • Experience with advertising-related laws, regulations, principles, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet, and technology companies
  • Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
  • Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-house experience at a digital advertising, technology, social media, or AI company
  • Experience with global laws relating to digital advertising, social media platforms, and similar technologies
  • Experience working proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects
Compensation:

$226,000/year to $304,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
