About the Role

Princeton University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Maintenance Manager to join our Facilities Operations team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and administering a work unit that supports the university's civil infrastructure, including over 200 miles of underground utilities and four million square feet of roadways, walkways, and plazas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide direction, focus, guidance, motivation, support, prioritization, and oversight for assigned management, supervisory, and front-line staff. Develop programs, processes, and procedures that result in a high level of organizational performance and effectiveness.
  • Maintenance and Repair Operations: Implement and manage an effective and efficient infrastructure maintenance repair program, including a preventive maintenance program. Develop, implement, and monitor administrative and technical control processes to ensure the reliable operation of underground utility and campus mobility infrastructure.
  • Enterprise Asset Management: Provide technical support and guidance relative to a wide range of campus building systems and equipment. Ensure and validate that proper design reviews, quality assurance, system commissioning, shop training, and project handoff are completed for capital construction and major maintenance projects in areas of responsibility.
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Develop initial cost estimates and manage budgets to ensure work is completed within the approved budget. Develop and manage the project planning schedule through completion of the project.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, engineering, architecture, or construction management, plus a minimum of seven years of leadership/management experience in a large commercial, industrial, or institutional environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Management and Leadership: Ability to develop and communicate goals that are consistent with the departmental and university mission. Motivate, plan, lead, organize the workforce to establish and maintain a work culture of excellence and inclusion in all facets of the operation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of a wide range of underground utility systems, including steam, condensate return, chilled water, hot water, geo-exchange, electrical, information technology infrastructure, water lines, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience. Possess highly developed analytical skills.
  • Project Management: Possess project management experience and have a good working knowledge with project planning, scheduling, and work implementation.
  • Regulatory and Safety: Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and regulatory codes, with the ability to research applicable codes related to specific projects, departmental processes, or initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior related experience in a higher education setting.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience managing in a union environment.
