Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Maintenance Manager to join our team at Princeton University. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the reliable operation of our campus infrastructure, including utilities, roads, and buildings.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of university funds.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a leadership or management role in a large commercial, industrial, or institutional environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of underground utility systems, including steam, condensate return, chilled water, hot water, geo-exchange, electrical, information technology infrastructure, water lines, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical documents, specifications, diagrams, sequences of operation, and drawings.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a higher education setting.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience managing in a union environment.

Must be able to climb ladders and have the physical dexterity to climb into tight, awkward, restricted areas and around occasionally around obstacles. Must be able to look at facilities issues near live electrical equipment, rotating machinery and other mechanical systems.
