As a key member of our Facilities Operations leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of professionals to ensure the reliable operation of our university's infrastructure, including underground utilities and campus mobility systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair programs to ensure the reliable operation of our infrastructure.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to ensure the successful execution of maintenance and repair projects.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure that maintenance and repair projects are completed within approved budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance and repair projects are aligned with university goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership/management experience in a large commercial, industrial, or institutional environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of underground utility systems, including steam, condensate return, chilled water, hot water, geo-exchange, electrical, information technology infrastructure, water lines, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers.
  • Ability to effectively read, interpret, and understand technical documents, specifications, diagrams, sequences of operation, and drawings.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience.
  • Project management experience and a good working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and work implementation.
  • Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and regulatory codes, with the ability to research applicable codes related to specific projects, departmental processes, or initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior related experience in a higher education setting.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience managing in a union environment.
