Certified Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team at CHAS Health. As a key member of our clinical programs, you will provide essential support to clients with mental health challenges, promoting socialization, recovery, and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide peer support to clients, promoting socialization, recovery, and self-sufficiency.
- Serve as an advocate for patients' rights and benefits, providing side-by-side support, coaching, and encouragement.
- Assist clients with symptom management and recovery, modeling wellness and personal responsibility.
- Help other providers understand and empathize with each patient's unique experience and perceptions.
- Teach clients self-advocacy skills, promoting personal growth and development.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, vocational skills, housing, access, and financial supports.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to support clients actively participating in their own recovery.
- Support patients in connecting with external resources, including other patients in recovery.
- Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) credential through the Washington State Health Care Authority required within 90 days of hire.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills required.
- Detail-orientation, organization, leadership, and self-motivation required.
- Computer skills required.
- Valid drivers' license and insurance required.
- BLS (CPR/AED) required.
