Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and facilitate initiatives that aid government finance departments in their annual audit preparations.
  • Evaluate the work completed by junior consultants in areas such as bank reconciliations, pension and post-employment benefit accruals, lease agreements, capital asset management, and other yearly accounting tasks.
  • Conduct evaluations of clients' finance-related internal controls and propose enhancements.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and their external auditors.
  • Support the rollout of new GASB standards.
  • Prepare annual comprehensive financial reports utilizing the firm's proprietary web-based platform.
  • Engage in the proposal development process for potential clients.
Candidate Profile:
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple client projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information to prospective clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in professional writing and communication regarding meetings and project updates.
  • Employ critical thinking skills combined with practical judgment and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively with team members and clients, demonstrating sound judgment in client interactions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical prowess.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for client engagements and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or consulting within the public sector, including financial statement preparation and oversight of accounting functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA and CFE certifications, along with prior experience in public accounting and municipal finance.
