Position Overview
- Direct and collaborate with teams to pinpoint and secure new business opportunities for Abacus and its clientele.
- Identify and target specific government agencies for expansion based on historical performance and contract awards.
- Develop strategic plans and approaches to successfully capture these opportunities.
- Establish connections with potential clients, create and deliver presentations on company capabilities, participate in marketing and business development events, provide insights for bid/no bid evaluations, and foster partnerships with other firms.
- Lead the prioritization of capture strategies.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, overall proposal strategies, and proposal writing.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, capture management, and marketing within the U.S. Federal contracting landscape, showcasing a proven track record in leading business strategies and capture initiatives. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Familiarity with key Federal government procurement methods (T&M, FFP, performance-based) and contract mechanisms (GWACs/IDIQs) is essential. Extensive experience in identifying and tracking business prospects is crucial. Proven ability to build new relationships and maintain existing connections with strategic clients through regular direct engagement to collaborate on advantageous solutions and share corporate success narratives. Capable of evaluating opportunities and solicitations to accurately assess their potential value to the organization, along with resource needs and financial implications. Exceptional communication skills coupled with strong analytical, organizational, workflow, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in fostering productive working relationships with internal teams, management, and external partners, facilitating collaboration towards innovative solutions. Willingness to travel is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
