Key Responsibilities:

The Executive Vice President (EVP) will serve as the principal leader of Laboratory Services, overseeing daily operations, formulating strategic initiatives, and managing financial performance. This role is integral to the senior leadership team, collaborating across departments to identify growth avenues, enhance productivity, and ensure sustainability.

Laboratory Services are essential to NYBCe's mission, providing component manufacturing and testing while generating revenue through specialized services for external partners, including hospitals. The EVP will also play a crucial role in the education of transfusion service professionals.

Strategic Leadership:

The EVP will develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the laboratories, focusing on innovation and emerging industry trends. This position requires expertise in clinical laboratories, including Infectious Disease Testing, Immunohematology, Genomics, and Quality Control.

Collaboration and Communication:

Working closely with executives across all business lines, the EVP will ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives with organizational goals. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing laboratory operations to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Leading divisional laboratory teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Implementing business strategies and operational support to achieve optimal laboratory performance.
  • Driving innovation and exploring new technologies to enhance testing and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring the highest quality of laboratory services.
  • Establishing key performance indicators to benchmark laboratory effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Education: Advanced degree in Medical Technology, Applied Science, or a related field is preferred. An MBA or equivalent business degree is highly desirable.

Experience: A minimum of ten years in blood banking or laboratory management, with significant experience in leadership roles.

Skills: Proven operational leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
