Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in identifying and spearheading business growth opportunities that align with the strategic objectives of the organization, particularly within the Midwest region. The focus will be on multi-craft construction, mechanical and fabric maintenance, as well as NDT/inspection services. The ideal candidate will excel in recognizing and assessing opportunities through regular client interactions and market analysis. This role involves maintaining consistent engagement with clients at all levels of influence and decision-making, while also developing and managing growth strategies for both existing and prospective clients. The candidate will act as a liaison with internal teams to explore cross-business unit opportunities globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential business opportunities within relevant service lines.
  • Assist the marketing team in planning client-specific annual events, including key industry networking and conference activities.
  • Support business development and marketing strategies to align with annual budget goals, ensuring operational objectives are met.
  • Oversee sales-related functions, including tracking individual sales leads and generating reports using company booking software.
  • Research and analyze industry, competitor, and client data to inform business strategies.
  • Facilitate the creation of presentations and marketing materials tailored for target customers, emphasizing key value propositions.
  • Collaborate with the proposal and operations teams to develop tailored proposals and qualifications for targeted clients.
  • Engage with other departments and global networks to differentiate Bilfinger and gain strategic insights into new markets or technologies.
  • Assist management with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.
  • Prepare management reports and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships in the Midwest region.
  • At least 10 years of experience in fabric maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and construction services.
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, management, and long-term service agreements.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet tight deadlines and objectives.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for business purposes.
  • Experience in developing customer presentations and value propositions for RFP/RFQ processes.
Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with construction and maintenance services in the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and IIR for client outreach and business planning.
  • Skilled in crafting business proposals and understanding various contract structures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP, Salesforce, Power BI, and IIR.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent education and industry experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with executive management.
