Mechanical Engineer II Position

Birdon America Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical parts, components, and equipment, as well as providing engineering, manufacturing, and project support.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical parts, components, and equipment
- Provide engineering, manufacturing, and project support
- Perform all aspects of engineering functions, including 2D drawing, 3D modeling, and designing new products using computer-aided design software
- Produce moderately complex engineering drawings/diagrams and assist in troubleshooting the design of company products
- Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly
- Review assigned projects to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problems, and possible solutions
- Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies
- Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in SolidWorks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programs
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Possesses a creative approach for generating new ideas
- Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process
- Ability to design fixtures and tooling for machining of precision parts
- Possess working knowledge of complex math concepts including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Working knowledge in the use of common machine shop measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and machining equipment such as lathes, mills, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Working conditions are normal for a Manufacturing environment where exposure to dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
Relationships:Birdon's senior management team, including Divisional and Functional Managers, may provide additional direction and duties from time to time.
