Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Prep Cook to join our team at Black Cap Coffee & Bakery of Vermont. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring quality control, and maintaining exceptional sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of food offerings, including slicing and portioning ingredients
  • Pull ingredients for preparation and ensure proper storage
  • Cook eggs and prepare products such as burritos, eggs, and muffins
  • Prepare overnight oats and parfaits for the following day
  • Prepare smoothie ingredients and seasonings
  • Assist bakers with tasks as needed
  • Communicate ingredient inventory needs to management
  • Perform assigned cleaning duties, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
  • Follow all health codes and maintain exceptional sanitation standards
Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs up and down stairs multiple times per day
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs off the ground from a squatting position
  • Must be able to frequently squat, bend at the waist, and twist while carrying heavy objects
  • Must be able to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time
Preferred Qualifications
  • ServeSafe Food Handler Safety Certification
  • Strong skills in communication, attention to detail, sense of urgency, prioritization, professionalism, and adaptability
  • Timely and attentive to work
  • Growth mindset and ability to respond constructively to feedback
