**Job Summary:**

The Endoscopy Technician Specialist at Alaska Digestive Center performs critical technical responsibilities related to the treatment and care of endoscopy patients using specialized instrumentation. This role involves monitoring the inventory levels of all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring that the work environment, equipment, and supplies are properly prepared, assembled, and organized for diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare and maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
  • Monitor and maintain the inventory levels of all instrumentation and supplies, ordering replacements as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and setup of the endoscopy suite, including the arrangement of equipment and supplies.
  • Provide technical support to endoscopy staff, including troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

**Requirements:**

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved Operating Room Technical School with certification preferred, or one (1) year of on-the-job experience in an endoscopy setting.
  • Experience or proven ability to function in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of the use and handling of instruments, endoscopic equipment, scope cleaning machines, and sterilizers, as well as standard precautions and terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and scope cleaning rooms.

**Certifications and Licenses:**

  • No license required, but participation in AORT is encouraged.
  • CNA License preferred.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
