Key Responsibilities- Analyze training needs by examining job tasks and requirements for OST positions.
- Lead and complete the analysis phase of course development by determining the types of analyses to be used.
- Manage, direct, and design, develop, and update courses by using the ISD process.
- Lead and complete the design phase of course development by planning and coordinating course design work.
- Complete course evaluation by observing pilot course presentations and subsequent presentations as needed.
- Ensure technical quality of courses by reviewing and analyzing course syllabi, course content, lesson plans, and instructional goals.
- Ensure historical reference of course development records and files.
- Develop appropriate training plans and develop and periodically update training plans and/or training programs.
- Remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism.
- Ensure that integrated safety and quality management principles are applied to all duties.
- Work closely with clients to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Maintain initiative, flexibility, and cooperation in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree emphasizing education, adult learning, human resource development, or teaching and learning technologies.
- A minimum of 2 years specialized experience applying the principles, practices, and techniques used in the ISD process.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced word processing using Microsoft Word, as well as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must understand the requirements for the protection and handling of classified matter.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the instructional design process and demonstrated skill in applying the methodology.
- Ability to complete the DOE training courses of Basic Instructor Training, Curriculum Development, and Job Analysis.
- Ability to travel to locations throughout the CONUS.
- Ability to meet the requirements for a DOE security clearance.
- Preferred military or law enforcement experience.
- Ability to understand and follow complex directions/instructions.
- Willingness to work in an environment that changes rapidly and requires occasional variance in hours.
- Must be detailed-oriented self-starter and have the ability to work independently.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers.
- May involve standing, walking, and kneeling for brief periods. May involve minimal or infrequent lifting or carrying.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOE Q security clearance.
- A pre-employment test for the absence of any illegal substances will be required.
- Certain positions requiring a security clearance may require the periodic successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
- Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation.
- Familiarity with DOE program office procedures and tracking systems.
