Correctional Mental Health Specialist

TK Health is seeking a Correctional Mental Health Specialist for a job in Sebastian County Jail - Fort Smith, AR.
As a Correctional Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, and coordinating mental health care for incarcerated individuals. You will formulate individualized release plans to ensure a continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention to emotionally distressed and mentally ill inmates
- Conduct evaluations of inmates for the purpose of suicide intervention and prevention
- Coordinate inmate care with Facility and Medical staff to ensure inmates' special needs are addressed
- Develop Individualized Treatment Plans for psychiatric inmates who require intensive behavior management
- Promote linkages with community mental health agencies, other support services, and families for inmate care and coordination for continuum of care
- Maintain the safety and security of staff and inmates when making clinical decisions regarding inmates
- Participate in on-call responsibilities for off-hours MHP coverage
- Provide mental health training for jail staff as needed
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or related field; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Licensed as a Social Worker, Marriage/Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Professional Counselor required.
