Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Calibration Instrument Repair Electrician to join our team at Tradesmen International. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $32/hour based on experience, plus $120/per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of electronic systems that power nuclear reactors on Navy ships
  • Reading and utilizing test procedures and work documents
  • Utilizing extensive electrical meters and test instruments, including voltohm meters, clampon ammeters, insulation resistance testers, phase rotation testers, meggers, etc.
  • Verifying circuit continuity using applicable drawings, meters, and test equipment
  • Testing and inspecting low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations
  • Troubleshooting electrical performance deficiencies
  • Reading schematics and determining the cause of faults in system drawings and components
  • Performing other tasks as assigned
Requirements
  • Extensive understanding of nuclear plant machinery and auxiliary equipment that supports NAVAL Reactors
  • Extensive understanding of the theory and operation of a steam power plant
  • Proficiency in the use of extensive electrician hand tools, including pliers, wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, connector crimping tools, etc.
  • Physical ability to climb vertical and inclined stairs and ladders, crawl, bend, stoop, work at heights, and work in confined spaces
  • Able to obtain a clearance (Secret/Confidential)
