Position Overview: As a Licensed Electrician in the North Slope region of Alaska's oil and gas industry, you will be instrumental in the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical systems and apparatus. Your compliance with NPFA 70E standards is essential for ensuring the safe and effective operation of electrical systems within the facility.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and NPFA 70E regulations.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints for layout and installation purposes.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
  • Adhere to stringent safety protocols and maintain precise documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NPFA 70 standards throughout all tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Journeyman Electrician certification from the State of Alaska.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems installation and repair, with a focus on NPFA 70 compliance.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical capability to work in extreme conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • Hazardous Locations (HAZLOC) certification.
  • Experience in hazardous environments adhering to NPFA 70 standards.
  • Knowledge of specialized Arctic construction equipment.
  • Additional training in electrical safety and first aid.

Work Environment:

  • Located in North Slope, Alaska, with exposure to severe weather conditions.
  • May require working in confined spaces and with heavy machinery.
  • Rotational schedules and extended shifts may be necessary.
  • Pre-employment screenings are required.
