Position Overview
A Journeyman Estimator is a professional adept at executing all estimating tasks, having undergone training as a Journeyman Estimator Apprentice or possessing equivalent education and experience. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical theory and practices, along with comprehensive knowledge of construction specifications, electrical codes, and service policies. Responsibilities include conducting field surveys, preparing necessary permits, and assisting in the development of district budgets as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all estimating functions with proficiency.
- Conduct field surveys and prepare relevant documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for the district.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and service policies.
- A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of an Estimator apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory and operations.
- Thorough understanding of construction specifications and mapping systems.
- Ability to pass the Estimator examination within the initial months of employment.
- Prior experience in estimation.
- Two years of experience in customer service.
- Familiarity with relevant manuals and agreements.
